Can I make the photos bigger?

Yep, you sure can. 99% of the images on this site have a width of 500px or higher. On the main page, click on a photo to view it larger in a permalink window. If you’d like to see a photo in its full, HQ glory without having it encased within the window, click on it one more time.

Do you have any more photos of _______ ?

Click on the tags located below the photo on the permalink window or permalink page. If I’ve posted other photos, they’ll be there.

If there’s someone you’d like me to post photos of, please feel free to drop her name in my ask box. I’ll dig some up- provided she fits in with the theme of the site, of course. I don’t post modern or “retro modern” images.

Where are the men?

Men are fantastic creatures, but this site is focused on women only. Men do appear here (quite frequently, in fact!), but only if there’s also a lady present in the photo.

Where are the women of color?

I try my best to post women of color whenever possible. However, due to the institutionalized racism of both the film and fashion industries in the eras covered by this site, there simply aren’t a lot of photos available.  If there’s anyone I’m leaving out or that you’d like to see more of, please do send in a suggestion.

Where do you get your photos?

If I told you, I’d have to kill you. I kid, I kid. The photos come from numerous sources, both online and off.

Why is there so much Anna Karina?

Because she’s my favorite. I run a Tumblr devoted strictly to her at annakarina.org.
